GRANNY LOVES TO GIVE

Growing up we learned the importance of giving back to our communities. Which is why, Sweet Leaf Tea is committed to donating 1% of gross sales to community charities every year. We call it the 1% Initiative. Others just refer to it as downright nice. Here are a few of the folks we share our blessings with.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • National Multiple Sclerosis Society
  • Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

One charity close to our hearts is Big Brothers Big Sisters. Clayton joined the organization as a “Big” a few years back, and has since involved Sweet Leaf Tea through sponsorships and donations to the organization as well as hosting fundraising events. Now, several of our tea-mates are “Bigs” to area “Littles”.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY

Sweet Leaf Tea is a proud sponsor of multiple “MS 150” events throughout Texas. In addition to sponsoring breakpoints along race routes for the BP MS 150 and the Valero MS 150, Sweet Leaf has participated in rides with our own “Sweet” team. In fact, several of our tea-mates have made the 150 mile bike trek from Houston to our hometown, Austin more than once. (Talk about being in shape!) Sweet Leaf Tea has also sponsored race participation drives in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sweet Leaf Tea co-hosts a national “Drink Pink” promotion in select retailers. At the end of October, we give 5% of the sales from the promotion to various breast cancer awareness organizations. In addition to “Drink Pink”, Sweet Leaf has sponsored multiple breast cancer awareness events such as Tri for the Cure in Denver, Race for the Cure events in Texas, Tour de Cure in Houston and the Women’s Race in Austin to help refresh survivors and their loved ones.
